On April 14, 2007, the Foggy Bottom Morris Men of Washington, D.C. sponsored a Day of Dance around the capital. Our own Hicks with Sticks were invited to participate in the festivities.
The Hicks and Foggy Bottom teams were joined by the Albemarle Morris Men of Charlottesville, VA, and the Rock Creek Morris Women of Washington, D.C. Dance locations included the U.S. Capitol, Union Station, and the Eastern Market.
Feasting, singing, and general merry-making took place at strategic establishments such as the Dubliner, the Hawk and Dove, and Capital City Brewing.
We are thankful for the simple pleasures of friends, music and dance. And that other simple pleasure enjoyed by Morris folk through the ages -- beer!
